Memorizing Tips
  • Recollection - 24 hours. (Repetition)
  • Association : associate yourself with the idea, you are trying to learn
  • Reflection : reflect continuously
  • Visualization : visualize the thing you want to learn, its very effective
  • Exaggeration / humor : make learning fun.
  • Use all “senses”
  • Repeat, Repeat, Repeat (three times)
  • Information chunking – Break into small pieces
  • Too much is bad – avoid learning too much at any one time…!
  • Organize your material – re arrange as you like.
  • Be determined to remember
  • Give time
  • Learn where you want – Place
  • Say things out loud … watch your neighbours..!
  • Be determined to remember – It is not genetic…!
When, after all this hard work on memory, you still forget some things, don't be hard on yourself.
Realize that everyone is in the same boat and take a minute to think of all the millions of things you do remember…!

Remembering People:
  • Say no to "I cannot remember people's names."  
  • decide that you want to remember.
  • Make sure you hear the name clearly. Ask again..
  • Try to use the name in your first conversation.
  • Recollect the name during the next few minutes
  • Find out more about the person
  • Over the next few days, recollect again.
  • Go over the names again at decreasing intervals,
  • But keep your notes/address book just in case..!
'use it or lose it' applies to brain power just as much as muscle power…!

Do not loose your brain…!
  • It is very easy to become mentally lazy.
  • We may feel as busy as ever, and not notice that we are doing unchallenging mental tasks.
  • We relish the slower pace but we pay a heavy price for it in decreasing mental agility.
  • Mental degeneration…!
Waking up your brain can be fun!
  • Evening classes in a new subject, hobby.
  • Additional/new responsibilities, new challenges in the work, home or in social life.
  • Lateral thinking games crosswords, chess or bridge, logic puzzles.
  • Sharing your new activity with others.
  • making new friends and remembering.
