To have a productive and efficient workplace, a manager must know how to juggle many responsibilities and make things work and fit together successfully. Because of this, he has to know how to increase his productivity in the workplace by taking some of the steps listed below.

Being Fair

A good manager will treat all his co-workers fairly. If a supervisor or manager treats his workers unequally, it can cause a lot of tension in the office which makes his employees less productive. A good manager will ensure that all his team members feel they are an equal part of the team and that they contribute just as equally to the success of the company. Being fair to all employees will have them working together much more efficiently.

Praise Employees

Praising your employees is such a powerful tool that results in better productivity. Workers want to feel they have done well and when you praise them, it gives them a better sense of accomplishment and achievement that boosts that productivity. Employees need to hear when they do something above and beyond and see that it was appreciated.

Framework for Success

Every company has goals that hopefully lead them to be successful. Just as well, an employee should have a goal that leads them towards success as well. Give your employees a good outline with a goal they can achieve and then encourage employees to meet them. Your employees will work much more effectively when pushing towards a goal.

Team Environment

You won’t have a very productive or effective workplace if every person is only looking out for themselves. To raise that productivity in your workplace, build an atmosphere that shows teamwork. There are tons of team building exercises that you can do together to have some fun and promote teamwork. Get involved in some team community involvement projects that promote the group working together.

Employees Happiness

When you have happy employees, they will be productive employees. You can hand out confidential surveys to gauge how happy your employees are and if there are trouble spots you will know what needs to be worked on. You may be surprised at how much more effective employees work when they are happy.

Don’t Micro Manage

Micro managing your employees is the worst way to manage them. Employees that have to check in and let you know every little move they make will not work efficiently or productively. They don’t need to be badgered to do their jobs. Give them the chance to prove them can work well for you without constantly looking over their shoulders and you will find that they are happier and more productive.

Boosting productivity does not mean that you cannot manage. Leaders are the ones that do have to lead. We know micro managing will not produce an effective working environment, but following up when a job is supposed to be completed is okay. Lead your employees in a positive manner and let them know you are a part of that team as well. Taking the right steps to make the workplace more effective and increase productivity will be worth it in the long run. Everyone will be happy and the office will run much more smoothly.
